Ramapo delays vote on bond for stadium

July 20, 2010 "Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence apparently lacks the votes for the town to borrow $5.8 million toward clearing a wooded area and preparing the property for construction of a baseball stadium off Route 45 near the Fire Training Center."

"The Town Board needs four affirmative votes to approve the short-term loan for the work. A meeting scheduled Monday was canceled when three board members couldn't attend."

"Councilmen Yitzchok Ullman and Patrick Withers said Monday that they were reluctant to approve a bond anticipation note until the public votes on a proposed financing plan of up to $16.5 million for construction of the 3,500-seat stadium."

"With only Councilman Daniel Friedman's vote, St. Lawrence said Monday that he would hold the meeting when all the board members were available."
