One important proposed development not listed on the chart is the Wrightman Plateau project. There might be environmental considerations that will forestall this development, so we have left it off the chart. The data for the project follows:
Wrightman Plateau
Unincorporated Ramapo, Sterling Mine Road and Eagle Valley Rd.
161 units; 3.47 density; 559 population; 48,000 gpd waste water (73,744);
40,250 gpd water demand (61,454); 322 vehicles traffic.
The environmental impact of these combined projects is considerable, and it comes at a time when United Water is scrambling to find new sources just to supply the current population in and around Ramapo, and the sewer system is so overwhelmed 3.4 million gallons of raw sewage have flowed into our streets and waterways from illegal spills from the Rockland County Sewer District #1 in the first four months of this year. The impact of almost 7,000 new cars on and around Route 17 is another problem entirely.
