Petition Against Rental Space at Elmwood Elementary School

The undersigned parents and concerned residents of the East Ramapo Central School District denounce and strongly
disagree with the plan to rent public school property at Elmwood Elementary School for private use.

This space must be restricted for use by the children of Elmwood Elementary School. Renting this space will displace
the collaborative students in grades 4, 5 and 6. These learners require the occupation of two classrooms to ensure that
the objectives of the program are met. Specifically, there must be ample room to teach in smaller groups to provide an
environment that ensures the best educational practices.

No Child Left Behind guidelines demand that the district provides the opportunity for all children to develop the essential skills
to compete in our global society. By impeding the development opportunities for these students, the Board of Education and
the School Administrators are jeopardizing our children’s futures.
